On the Menu, hover your mouse over "Data", Select and Click on "Individuals".  After "loading",  a list of about 10 000 Individual Authors is displayed. Click on the column heading "Genera Described" to sort this column. This column can be sorted by ascending (0 - 9) or descending values (9 - 0). If it is sorted by ascending values, Click on the heading again to change the sort method.
You will now get a list of Authors sorted by the number of Genera described - as shown below:



This page also shows the number of species and genera described by each author - Each column can be sorted in the same way.

The top ten authors sorted by genera described, are listed below:

  525  Bleeker
  479  Fowler
  474  Gill
  450  Whitley
  302  Günther
  209  Eigenmann
  207  Cuvier
  191  Rafinesque
  190  Evermann

You can also search for a name in the Individual List and see immediately how many species and genera were described by that author.
These numbers are purely statistical and not meant as a critique of any individual nor a measure of any individual's scientific acumen.
