It is commonly known as Brownstripe red snapper but has many other common names such as in Australia as Brownstripe snapper , in Japan as Yokosuji-fuedai, in Philippines as Kulorisi, in Mozambique as Pargo de bandas castanhas, in Tanzania, United Rep. of as Janja. more common names It is found in Salt water and its distribution is Indo-West Pacific: Seychelles and India to New Caledonia and Marshall Islands; Australia to Ryukyu Islands.
