Habitat   pelagic        
Water   Fresh, Brackish and Salt water
Habitat Notes   Forms schools in shallow coastal waters and lower estuaries. Found in freshwater during its first year, seldom thereafter (Ref. 9812). Spawns near estuary mouths or in the sea (Ref. 9812). Feeds on small crustaceans and molluscs as well as microscopic algae (Ref. 2109). Marketet fresh or filleted (Ref. 9812).
Depth Range   From 1 to 10 meters.
