Habitat Notes Dusky sweeper.
Bleeker, 1877
Attains 17 cm. Body hatchet shaped with large eyes. Body and head coppery brown
with silvery and brassy reflections. Dorsal tip blackish; more or less distinct black blotch
at base of Pectoral fin. This is the most common and widely distributed member of the
sweeper family. Usually congregates during the day in small to large groups in caves
and dark areas of shallow reefs and rocky shores. Feeds on zooplankton at night.
Indo-West Pacific, south to the Transkei.
