Pseudorasbora parva was originally described as Leuciscus parva by Temminck & Schlegel in 1846. It belongs to the family Cyprinidae and subfamily Gobioninae. It is commonly known as Stone moroko but has many other common names such as Stone moroko in USA (contiguous states), Motsugo in Japan, Topmouth Gudgeon in South Africa, Pseudorasbora in France, Blaubandbärbling in Germany, Fed. Rep.. more common names It is found in Fresh water and its distribution is Northeastern Asia; introduced elsewhere. Spreading into Europe.
