Name History   • Synonym of Serrasalmus serrulatus  (Valenciennes 1849), but a valid subspecies -- (Géry 1972:222 [ref. 1594]). • Synonym [of the younger] Pristobrycon striolatus  (Steindachner 1908) -- (Jégu in Reis et al. 2003:188 [ref. 27061]). • Perhaps should be considered as valid as Pristobrycon scapularis  (Günther 1864).
