Water   Salt water
Habitat Notes   Found on the continental shelf and uppermost slopes. Feeds on small sharks and jacks. Ovoviviparous. Utilized dried salted and fresh for human consumption. Its liver oil is also taken as well as hides for leather.
Depth Range   From 30 to 500 meters.
Distribution   Mediterranean Sea, eastern Atlantic: Morocco to Angola.
