Habitat Notes Bluering angelfish.
(Bloch, 1787)
Attains 35 cm. Body yellowish-brown with brilliant blue lines radiating out from pectoral
fin towards rear end of body. Light yellowish circle enclosed by blue border on head
above gill cover. Gill cover spine also bright blue. Caudal fin light blue to white. Found
off Sri Lanka (not in Maldives), but rare off Madagascar and East Africa. Found at
depths of between 5 and 35 metres. Occurs singly or in pairs. Feeds on zooplankton.
